Heading out to the 95959 tomorrow, yo-diggity…

Ok, I’ll admit that is pretty corny, especially the “yo-diggity” part, but this next week I will speaking at Diamond Arrow Camp in Nevada City for the Church of God junior summer camp.

I’m stoaked. I really haven’t taught or spoke anywhere since my last day at the Naz the 1st of February. Plus, its a camp my youth pastor friend Adam directs and such so it will be good to see him and experience camp life together.

The focus of camp will be our identity in Christ and the key verse is 2 Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” Monday night is the first time I will speak.

Monday: Who am I?” Looking at who each of us really are. This is to set up the rest of the week and my message that night is: The Truth about Who We Are. (John 1:12, Rom. 6:1-2, 1 Peter 2:11, 2 Timothy 1:7, and Hebrews 4:16)

Tuesday’s Focus:I am Chosen” [“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ…”] That morning I will share the story of Zacchaeus and that night my message is: I Belong to God. (Luke 19:1-10, Rom. 8:35, 38-39, and 1 Peter 2:9-10)

Wednesday’s Focus:I am Valued” [“…he is a new Creation…”] That morning I will share the story of the sick woman and that night my message is: Recognizing my Value. (Mark 5:24-34, Ps. 139:13, Luke 12:7, and John 14:2-3)

Thursday: I am Redeemed” [“…the old has gone, the new has come!”] This is my last morning at camp and that morning I will share the story of Nicodemus and that night my message is: Can I Trust God? (John 3:1-21, Ps. 145:8, Matthew 10:30, 1 Timothy 6:17b, Jeremiah 29:11, Ps. 86:5, Matthew 11:28-29, and Romans 5:8)

Will you pray each day about the specific focus? I’ve included some of the scripture for you to read and pray through as well. These kids will be younger, but I totally believe that God wants them to know He has chosen them, that He values them and that He has redeemed them. So please, please be praying.

And, I have a few other things for you to be praying for too. Melanie is going to only be there with me the first night, so be praying for her as she travels back to Sacramento Tuesday morning by herself. Now this may seem a little silly, but this will be the first time we are apart from eachother over night, so just pray for us both about that. Be in prayer about a job for me. I have a few applications and such out now at a few churches and I’ve also applied for a few jobs at the school district too. Bottom line: I need a job, yesterday.
