These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God’s creation. I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or another! So, because you are lukewarm, neither hot nor cold, I am about to spit you out of my mouth. Those who I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest, and repent. Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.” (Revelation 3:14-16; 19-20)

God, You know us inside and out, nothing is hidden from You. Myself and your people have become set in our ways, we have become cold and then hot and then cold again, a mixture that has made us lukewarm, a mixture that has polluted your truth. Often we live lives that boast of our accomplishments and our riches, and we have no dependancy on you. Our faith has been softend and polluted. We are oblivious to the fact that we are pitiful blind beggers – homeless without You. May we be earnest…

But Your love for us is not altered by our lack of faith, or odd mixures that have made us lukewarm. It is because of the greatness of Your love for us that you are calling us, personally – and not leaving us behind – calling us us into account for where how we have been living. Correct us God, that we’d run straight to You. May we desire to live out our best before You and for Your glory alone. Daily, may we make the choice to filled with Your Holy Presence and radiate Your truth. May we be earnest…

You are pursuing us. We have tremendous value in Your oh Lord. And you are at this door, waiting for us to open it, to open ourselves up to your love and truth once again so that You might come in, dine with us, take up residence in our lives and transform us from the inside out into your glorious image. May we be earnest…

The Holy Spirit of God is blowing through the churchs. Will we listen? Will we repent and turn from this awful mixture of lukewarm living? Have we, Your people, live for ourselves long enough? Refine us Lord. May we desire to be consumed with Your presence and live with Your glorious riches. Will be turn and open up our hearts and return to you oh Lord? Will we be earnest?
